What are the Maldives like?

Hello kind people, I've been instructed by my bride-to-be to research the Maldives for our honeymoon. And, as with any groom-to-be, you're far better off just keeping quiet and doing what you're told! I would love comments from couples who have travelled to the Maldives for their honeymoon or a holiday. There are just so many different islands to choose from and so many different types of accommodation. If you have the time, please do drop me a quick PM or leave a post here. I think I have (or rather Laura has) narrowed it down to a Jacuzzi Water Villa on Meeru Island. But it's still a bit like playing pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. Thanks folks!
